getting ready for the teen years
Now Playing: my children fighting on the first day of summer!
I found this in a magazine and thought it would help us all prepare for the teen years that are right around the corner!

25 WAYS TO DRIVE YOUR TEEN CRAZY!

1. SAY, "YOU WILL THANK ME LATER FOR THIS."

2. DROP YOUR TEENAGERS OFF WHERE THEIR FRIENDS CAN SEE YOU.

3. RUFFLE THEIR HAIR WHILE YOU'RE WAITING TO BUY TICKETS IN THE MOVIE LINE.

4. SPIT ON A TISSUE AND RUB CHOCOLATE OFF THEIR CHINS WHEN YOU'RE OUT TOGETHER IN PUBLIC.

5. WEAR AN ANKLE BRACELET.

6. DEMONSTRATE YOUR FAVORITE MOVES FROM WHEN YOU WERE A HIGH-SCHOOL CHEERLEADER WHEN THEY HAVE FRIENDS OVER.

7. ASK THEM IF THEY NEED TO GO TO THE BATHROOM BEFORE THEY LEAVE THE HOUSE.

8. HINT THAT YOU AND YOUR SPOUSE ARE STILL HAVING SEX.

9. DANCE ALONE AT ANY FUNCTION WHERE THEY CAN SEE YOU.

10.TELL YOUR BEST FRIEND SOMETHING THEY TOLD YOU IN CONFIDENCE.

11. SAY, "BUT WHAT WILL THE NEIGHBORS THINK?"

12. SAY TO ONE OF THEIR FRIENDS, "MY, HOW YOU'VE GROWN"

13. ASK, "WHY DOES BRITNEY SPEARS HAVE TO DRESS LIKE THAT?"

14. FIND YOUR OLD GUITAR AND SING "KUMBAYA" AND "THIS LAND IS YOUR LAND" IN FRONT OF THIER FRIENDS.

15. DRIVE UNDER THE SPEED LIMIT.

16. DRIVE OVER THE SPEED LIMIT.

17. DRIVE AT THE SPEED LIMIT.

18. INTERRUPT WHEN THEY'RE TALKING TO CORRECT THEIR GRAMMAR.

19. KEEP SAYING "COOL" IN AN EFFORT TO BE COOL.

20. HAVE EXTREME RIGHT-WING POLITICAL VIEWS.

21. HAVE EXTREME LEFT-WING POLITICAL VIEWS.

22. HAVE NO POLITICAL VIEWS WHATSOEVER.

23. HAVE ANY POLITICAL VIEWS AT ALL.

24. WAIT UP FOR THEM.

25. DON'T WAIT UP FOR THEM.

Here I am, Here I am!
No I haven't been lost, just so busy I don't know my butt from a hole in the ground. I'm going to use Diva's tidbits to try and catch everyone up.

*We finished moving Granddad Magnet. Everything except 2 kitchen chairs and his sweepers. He has to go up there and close on the house at the end of this month, so he can get them then. We're all really excited to have him down here with us!

*BASEBALL, BASEBALL, BASEBALL! My son is doing really good. He's batting good, running good, fielding good......He's just good. I sound like a baseball mom. well, I am a baseball mom and lovin every minute of it. but the thing I love the most? We don't have a game tonight!

*Jeri (joe dirt) and I are working on our family cookbook. I didn't realize that next weekend is our family reunion. We have to have it done for next weekend. So, I've been typing until my little fingers are sore.

*Jeanie, Jeri and I gave blood at our church yesterday. I was a first time donor. Jeanie had done it before. She passed out the 1st time, yesterday she got really light headed and I thought for sure she'd pass out again. Geez, could it have been that her blood pressure was 113/47? They must have really wanted her blood.

*My in-laws are coming in this weekend. I can't wait to visit with them. In case I've never said it before....I love my in-laws! I am one of the luckiest daughter in-laws in the world, I guarentee it! Not only am I excited to see them, but they are bringing our pontoon they are giving us, they are bringing the walnut wood for my staircase and they are bringing 800 lbs. of beef for us! Yippee!

Well, that's it for now. Today is the last day of school. We'll be setting up our pool soon. can't wait! IT'S SUMMER!!!!!!!!!!!!!

so,so tired!
Now Playing: 3 days worth of moving, make sore muscles!
I'm too tired right now to write about the last 3 days. More tomorrow on that. Just thought I'd add this to my blog....fits me perfectly!

TOP 5 SIGNS YOUR A MOM:

5) YOUR DIET CONSISTS OF WHATEVER THE KIDS REFUSE TO EAT

4) TOTAL SILENCE MAKES YOU THINK SOMEONE IS UP TO SOMETHING

3) YOUR FEET STICK TO THE KITCHEN FLOOR...AND YOU DON'T CARE

2) YOU SEEM TO HAVE TISSUE READY AT ALL TIMES..AND IF YOU DON'T THE KIDS SHIRT WILL WORK FINE

1) YOU AUTOMATICALLY CUT ALL YOUR FOOD INTO BITE-SIZE PIECES BEFORE EATING

One more thing.....my children are 11 and 8 (Happy Birthday MaKayla!!!!! Saturday) and for some reason.....I still fill their plates. What's up with that. I just thought about that today. Their old enough to fill their own plate...but I can't stop doing it. Do you think I'm trying to hold on or what??

The Wind, The Hillbillies and the Lack of Teeth!
Okay, we'll go in order here:

1)The Wind----Friday my friend and I set up our tents at our show (after driving 5 hours). We have "Easy-up" tents. HA! There should be a warning label on there---"Easy-up...unless there are 40mph wind gusts"
It normally takes 30 minutes to set up, stake, and put the sides on the tents. 5 hours Friday. FIVE HOURS!!! I have some awesome weights Mr. Magnet made me. They weigh about 180 lbs all together. They were hooked to our tents....wind....picks.....up......tent....with......
weights....attached. We fought the wind all weekend. Cold wind, hard wind. I wore flip-flops and capri's all weekend. Oh The Wind.

2)The Hillbillies----We were in the middle of the state of Arkansas. I've heard all the "ain't no's", "yor shore", and "tanks" I can stand. I need to hear ENGLISH people! I'd also like to know...Does anyone in that state own a mirror AND do they even look at themselves before leaving their home???? The Dirty cloths, that I'm positive would stand up by themselves when taken off, the mall bangs that withstood the wind, and OH the mullets! Oh The Hillbillies.

3)The Lack of Teeth----This probably doesn't need any explanation...but too bad, here it comes. How can some one stand to have teeth that are so dirty, they are orange. ICK! Not only were they orange, they were almost completely rotted up to their gums. I'm not talking about one or two people who have crappy jobs with no insurance and can't afford it, I'm talking 9 out of 10 people. Everytime one would come to my table I'd think to myself "They must have left their good teeth at home". Oh The Lack of Teeth.

All in all, I had a good show. I'm pooped, I'm wind burnt, and my feet are still cold....but....I'm out of the wind, I'm back in Oklahoma, and I have full-size, clean, white teeth. Life is good!

OKLAHOMA WEATHER! GOTTA LOVE IT!
Now Playing: radio with weather updates
Hmmmm...imagine if you will........thunderstorms, rain and wind. Tornados all around us...and I'm blogging. I'm not really afraid here. There is alot of concrete around my house and frankly....if it's gonna get me, it's gonna get me. My older sister called saying we were going to have a tornado tonight. She asked where we would go in case of a tornado. I told her downstairs in the hallway, up against the wall where right behind that wall is a concrete wall. We'd be safe. She said "What about your house?" Hello? Who ever said blondes say dumb things...try a redhead! What am I supposed to do if a tornado comes to wipe my house off this hill, stand in front of it and say "do you mind just skipping my house and take out the crappy trailer down the way?" I told my sister I have damn good insurance on this place.

I'm leaving for Heber Springs Arkansas tomorrow morning about 7. I have a show there. Hope I do good. Won't be back until Sunday night late. Too bad my husband and I couldn't take a little trip away for the weekend without me having to work. Sucks.

I was excited when I got to see the Goddess of Girl Scouts (that's you Diva) shake her boot-a at the meeting tonight! HeHe.....Better her than me!
Well, there are some Dill pickle chips calling my name. Think I'll go watch some T.V. then hit the sack. Have a great weekend everyone!
Later!

My poor little printer is trying so hard to keep up with my demands! I'm printing flyers for my show on Saturday. I really should have went to Office Depot, but I just don't have time! If anyone is going to be in the Pittsburg area come see me at the Meadowbrook Mall.

*Jeri and Jason got the final okay on their house. I'm really happy for them. I know how stressfull it is to buy a house.

*My dog looks horrible because she's losing her winter coat and she had some big matts, so I figured since I did hair for 9 years.........let's just say it's not the same for dogs as it is for humans. Poor dog has a bad hair day. Except it's an all over body haircut and it'll take longer than a day to look better.

*Tomorrow Mr. Magnet, my dad and granddad magnet are all going fishing. I'm excited because I'll have all day to myself to do jewelry without any interruptions!

*My son got a huge splinter today. It kinda went thru his finger on one side and out the other. I ended up having to cut the skin in the middle to get it out. It was bad, but not as bad as he made it sound.

*I spent 2 hours cleaning my fish tank yesterday and today it has water spots on the inside! I know what your thinking, I was thinking the same thing. Granddad said I should add a little bleach in between the big cleanings....then he added "That'll teach those fish not to shit in your tank!" Granddad is a hoot!

*My mother in law and father in law is finshed with my wood for my staircase. (They own a saw mill with a plainer and everything, and they cut walnut for my staircase.) I can't wait!

*I was sad about little dog Diva.

I think that's it. Better check the printer.....it's smoking!

Mood:  on fire
My daughter is home with a sore throat today. I think it's because it's spring and everything is budding out. Poor thing has allergies just like her father. "Thanks dad!"

As soon as I get finished blogging I'm cleaning. The kind where I start at the back of the house and work my way forward and down. Some people call it Spring Cleaning....I would but this happens about once every two weeks for me. So I call it Obsessive Compulsive Cleaning or OCC. (which could also be Orange County Choppers, but frankly I'm just not that cool.)

We stayed the night with my sister and b.i.l. Saturday night. Mr. magnet had to be at work at 6 and I had the great idea that if we stayed the night, we'd save money on gas (by just using one vehicle). I was right, we saved money! (Told you it was smart!) Jeri and I got up and got all the kids around and went to church. I now realize how awesome it would be to live in the same town as the church you go to. I got to sleep about 40 minutes more. Then we came home let the kids jump on the tramoline and we set out packing some of Jeri's belongings. They bought a new house and I told her she might as well use me while I was there. Then at 3 we were back at the church for an auction. There is a girl at out church that is I think 20. At 5 mths old she was diagonsed with cistic fibrosis. (that is probably spelled totally wrong, but you get the idea!) In December she had a double lung transplant. The auction was to help her parents with the bills. It was amazing to see a church family come together and in one afternoon raise over $8,000.00 for one of it's memebers. After the auction, Kelly got up and talked about her experience. She is a wonderful person and very strong. I can't imagine going thru something like that. She had made the comment that the day they found out the lungs were a match, her mom was "freaking out". As a mother, I can imagine freaking out also. It's what you've been waiting for your daughter's whole life, yet your about to watch your daughter go into a surgery that she may or may not come out of. I'd for sure "freak out!" I thank God every day that my kids are healthy! People don't realize how lucky they are! Okay, so I'm finished preaching! HEHE Yesterday was an awesome day though!

Well better get busy with the OCC!

Meet the Magnets
Now Playing: the dryer
Let me start out saying "I hate laundry".

Okay, I feel better. So can anyone get a reality show? Tonight I was flipping thru channels and on MTV is Meet the Barkers. Okay, I don't know about you, but I don't think I'll like this one. This chick is sitting in the middle of her new mansion, talking on the telephone, gripping to whoever she's talking to about how much she has to do. While this is happening, a crew of about 25 guys are moving all their belongings in. I don't think I get what she has to do. Geez, I'd love for those people to come to my house on a normal day, have to pay bills, do laundry, do dishes, deal with an 11 year old and a 7 year old, fix dinner, deal with a husband, and have to blog at the end of the day. They don't know what a tough life it is! Maybe Mr. Magnet and I could have a reality show. What an exciting thing that would be.

My house needs Merry Maids
Now Playing: mrs. oleson having a fit on tv
Feels like I haven't been here forever. Last week was nuts! Wednesday I went to my BFF's grandmother's funeral. Thursday we left for K.C. (Yes filegirl I was on your turf!) Mom, Jeri (little sis, joe dirt) and I were on a mission. To go thru all my grand-dad's closets, take down all his pictures and mainly just pack up as much as possible. (Can't remember if I told ya, but grand-dad is moving down here) Thursday night he took us to 54th steet (correct me if I'm wrong on the name filegirl) had an awesome steak and a huge margarita. Let's just say that they should not put girls who are 5-2 on a barstool that is taller than that. I swear the waiter had to boost me up there! So, after alot of laughs and alot of eating we headed to Wal-Mart for bubble wrap. Poor granddad didn't realize when he sent us three girls in that he'd be in the car for awhile. It's strange though that every Wal-Mart has different stuff. It had to be looked at! We got home and went to bed fairly early, because my mom gets up at the butt-crack of dawn and so did we Friday. By 6:30 we were packing. We worked all day. ALL DAY we did not stop. Friday about 4 dad walks in and starts helping us load what we can into his truck. Granddad took us out to Red Lobster Friday night. Thank goodness Red Lobster doesn't have bar stools to sit on because I would have just sat in the floor, rather than climb 2 foot. We got back and went to bed about 10. BEECCCAAAUUUSSSEEE my parents get up at the butt-crack of dawn. They thought it was funny to send their little dog (Scooby) to wake Jeri and I up. It was funny until I found out it was before 6. Geez! No kids, no husband and we're up that early? Old people are confusing! Anyhoo, we're up and have most everything loaded and I talk granddad into getting a small uhaul trailer. I figure the more we move this time, the less we have next time. So him and dad go get the trailer and we clean up the house. When they get back we load the trailer with recliners, T.V.'s, china hutches, more boxes and all the stuff we got! (by the way, I will never have to buy another kitchen thing in my life!) We finally head home about noon. We get to Miami and unload everything. We unpack boxes and do as much as our tired bodies would allow. Everyone goes home. Personally I went straight to bed and slept....until 10 on Sunday........or 9 whatever hell time it was. Guess I didn't make it to church. I kept thinking all day sunday that I needed to work on laundry. But I swear I couldn't move. Well, mom and I must be glutons for punishment, because yesterday we were back up at the duplex hanging all granddad's pictures. We got so much done yesterday. Granddad went back to K.C. Sunday to start packing up his tools in the garage and he's coming back down either Wednesday or Thursday. So, today I have to get some laundry done. I keep waiting for the laundry fairy to get it done, but I think she just keeps muliplying it. I HATE LAUNDRY.

But I gotta go do it now.............
I'll finish later and tell some of the funny things that happened in K.C.
